Namaste everyone, there's so much that we talk about being eco friendly nowadays, but how are we actually able to apply it in our life?
There's this new trend that bursting crackers is not eco friendly and hence I will not burn any! Have you come across such people or are you one of them? Lets consider a simple example that if you want to grow a plant, can you water it once or twice a year? People are like, once a year on diwali no crackers, bad for atmosphere, but an everyday ride on the automobile, doesn't affect the atmosphere! Whether I have done my vehicles pollution check doesn't matter, but one day in a year I will not burn crackers! Instead of walking to nearby store I will drive, but one day in a year I won't burn crackers! I will keep my vehicle switched on at the signal everyday, but once in a year I won't burn crackers!
I will keep wasting electricity on daily basis, but one day I will be eco friendly!
How hypocritical are we?
What are things you ask when you buy an automobile, mileage, power, safety and other things, but have you ever asked about emissions? No because it doesn't bother us, we are eco friendly once in a year! The way you drive also matters, the more you rev the less eco friendly you are! Do you have a garden or potted plants at your home, or you have taken an initiative in some way? It is not enough that once in a year you try to be eco friendly! Be eco friendly on a daily basis, its okay if you miss it once or twice a year but not vice versa! Try to compensate for it in some way!
Maintain your own garden, plants, try to reduce your carbon footprint, drive efficiently, reduce electricity wastage or in any way you think you can but on a daily basis, rather than feeling the pain and being eco friendly one day in a year!
How eco friendly are you?

We still managed to go out at least once a month for a temple visit along with eating her favourite food Paani Puri outside. In 2019 we went for a small pilgrimage to Kanchipuram along with her and some of my relatives for darshan of Athi Varadaraja Swamy when he was raised from Amritha Saras which happens once in 40 years, unlike us she couldn...
