Imagine you studying in a small hut under the light of a lamp and smoke of the chullah (kitchen fire) which your mother is burning to prepare food? For most of people living in towns and urban cities it would seem the least but if concern, yet even after 68 years of independence light and fire hadn't reached every single home in rural India. 

BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited) which started as Rangoon Oil and Corporation Limited in 1891 as a crude oil refinery to supplying its first LPG cylinders after India's Independence in the 1950s, to IOCL giving its 1st LPG connection in the year 1965, in the city of Kolkata to the formation of HPCL in 1974 after merger with Esso Standard. The ease and affordable access to clean fuel had been rather disappointing.

Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Yojana launched in 2016 for affordable access and distribution of LPG connections to Below Poverty Line - BPL families has been one of the instrumental scheme and move undertaken by the present dispensation at the Centre.

In the last 3 years, coverage increased rapidly to 94%(2019) from 55-56%(2016), and this 1st May 2021 marked 5 years of PMUY. 

Though the brainchild of this is Sri Chandra Babu Naidu who launched it way back in the year 1999 as chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh State as "Deepam Scheme".
दीपम/ deepam here again means Diya, to lighten up. 

It took 16 years for someone to appreciate the scheme and replicate the same on a much larger scale at the Center under Narendra Modi as Prime Minister and  Dharmendra Pradhan as Cabinet Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas. 

Though there are a few loopholes and shortcomings in it, you can't expect a perfect foolproof solution when so many families have been deprived of basic convenience even 70 years after Independence.

Personally, 1999 was the year my sister Bhavika was born, the same year Deepam was introduced in Andhra Pradesh and after which the Enterprise(Sree Geeta Agencies and Sri Balaji Trading Company - established in 1986) my uncle and father built concerning with Supply Chain Management of the LPG Stoves and Hose Pipes to BPCL, IOCL, HPCL  dealers for the state found their breakthrough point. 

We have come a long way since then, started our new sister concern Shree Ramavatar and Company at Kolkata in the year 2018 and there have been challenges but no looking back.

My grandmother's life revolved around her family, whether it was shopping for her grandchildren, planning for their weddings, doing evening Bhajans with them. All right, so this issue of women of menstruating age, aren't allowed to enter the Sabiramala Temple, and the recent judgement which comes as a relief to the previous blunder of defying the practice. Where is this thing called peace?!

Namaste everyone,this being my first post on my blog,I would like to share something on peace. Everyone in this world are looking directly or indirectly for peace,not ultimately but yes.Everyone in this world deserves to be peaceful,yet it is not so?Have we ever thought why?Let me be clear that when we talk about peace it is not siting quietly in meditation, it is the state of being stress free,whether while working or eating or whatever work it is! So let us get back to the question,what is stopping us from being peaceful? From not finding car keys, to exams, to day to day work, to rocket science,there is something which is not letting us be peaceful? So what is this something, it is our own attitude towards Peace! NO Peace and KNOW Peace, both sound the same,both may look to be different,but are they really different? Just knowing about Peace is the same as NOT knowing about peace, only if we are able to live by so, only then KNOWING and NOT KNOWING about Peace ...

It is the sad reality of modern India, that we have become subservient to Western/ Victorian Morality, we are slowly turning into such sick hypocrites that it is difficult to even start a conversation, in these lines. So, if a thirteen-year-old boy/girl who has just hit puberty, getting into their teens and they go to watch a movie with an intimate sex scene playing right out there, what to do you expect? You expect the boy/girl not go get aroused, not to think in those terms, just watch it like it is a passing scene, act like they are 40-year-old grown-ups? Free of Cost?!

I was at my office and a lady walked in, started her story of how she came to Bangalore with her children and husband and, how she is staying at the railway station, and needed some money. She trying to play the emotional victim, threw at me a list of people who have given her 100,200 rs each. I just asked her one question, what have you done in the last 4 days to find a place/job to work? She tried to reinstate her community card and I was adamant at the question.
